Will there be multiplayer?

Yes, players will be able to share their parks with friends around the world and work on them a-synchronously (a.k.a. one-at-a-time) across platforms, as well as being able to form Franchises with friends and compete with others in global leader boards. We’re excited for players to be able to collaborate in a whole new way and can’t wait to see their joint creations. 

Can you mix water and coaster rides in the same park?

Of course! While some of the scenarios in Planet Coaster will focus on managing coaster parks and water parks separately, they can also be combined to create a truly thrilling experience for guests.

Is Franchise mode entirely online? How does it work?

Yes! Franchise mode is a new game mode in Planet Coaster 2, which allows players to build a connected theme park empire. They’ll be able to get into the competitive spirit with friends around the world and across platforms, as they work their way to the top of the online leader board during set challenges.  

And there are other ways to collaborate too - players will also be able to build one-at-a-time with friends in both Franchise and Sandbox mode, across platforms, and can also visit one another’s parks, while the in-game cross-platform Frontier workshop allows them to share and download parks and blueprints. 

Will there be post-launch DLC?

We don’t have anything to share regarding post-launch DLC.

Will there be a subscription pass like the original Planet Coaster?

Will there be a physical edition of Planet Coaster 2?

What are the differences between PC and console?

Planet Coaster 2 has been designed to deliver an authentic theme park experience however you choose to play. Whether you prefer using keyboard and mouse or a gamepad, the controls have been tailored to provide all the functionality and control you’d expect, so that you can build and manage your parks intuitively. PC players will also have the ability to rebind keyboard and mouse controls if they wish to do so.

Planet Coaster 2 will also feature a complexity meter when playing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles. This handy tool helps keep your console experience smooth and enjoyable. The Complexity Meter is there to help guide you, so that you and your guests can stay entertained. When the counter hits 100, you won’t be able to place any additional buildings or rides. If this happens, streamlining your park should bring you back under the threshold so that it can truly thrive.

No matter which platform players choose to play on they’ll be able to collaborate one-at-a-time on parks with friends, compete in Franchise mode leader boards, and share and download Blueprints from the Frontier Workshop across platforms.

Can you transfer your builds and saves over from the first game?

Planet Coaster 2 is a brand-new game and experience for our players so unfortunately, you cannot transfer saves, parks or blueprints from the original Planet Coaster to the game.

I don’t have a high-spec PC or current gen console; can I still play the game?

We’re delighted that Planet Coaster 2 is available to play through our partnership with NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW cloud gaming service.

GeForce NOW allows us to reach players who may not have access to high-powered hardware, so that they can enjoy instant access to our titles with the best possible performance.

What languages is Planet Coaster 2 available in?

Planet Coaster 2 features voice over and text support for English, French, German, European Spanish (ES), Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Text only language support is available in Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Traditional Chinese.

Does Planet Coaster 2 have an Oswald Eugene Counter or similar build limiter?

Yes, Planet Coaster 2 will feature a complexity meter when playing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles. This is a handy tool that helps to keep your console experience smooth and enjoyable. It's there to help guide you so that you and your guests can stay entertained.

Why isn’t the game coming to previous generation consoles?

Launching Planet Coaster 2 on current gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S) allows us to make the most of the hardware to ensure the seamless gameplay experience, deep management, and stunning visuals you’d expect from a Planet Coaster sequel.

Is there mouse and keyboard support for console?

Yes, Planet Coaster 2 has been optimised for gamepads on console, but those who wish to will be able to play using a mouse and keyboard.

Will Planet Coaster 2 be coming to any additional platforms in future, e.g. Switch?

No, there are no plans to bring Planet Coaster 2 to any additional platforms.

I purchased the Standard Edition, can I upgrade to the Deluxe Edition?

You won't be able to upgrade from Standard to Deluxe, but the Vintage Funfair Ride Pack is available to purchase separately.

Is the Frontier Workshop content cross-platform?

Yes, the Frontier Workshop will be cross-platform. Players can share and download blueprints and parks in-game between PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. We can’t wait to see everyone’s creations!
